Lola's Opera Cakes – Our Take on the Traditional French Opera Cake

The Opera cake is a traditional French dessert made by a famous French pastry chef in 1955. The goal when creating this cake is to be able to take one bite and taste the whole cake.

Our twist on this traditional cake has evolved the shape and flavours that you would typically find. With opera cakes often being in rectangular shape, and with an almond and coffee sponge, we wanted to branch out and experiment with adding in a few flavour combinations of our own that we believed would taste great, and oh’ did they turn out well!
